DSLRs banned in Kuwait. What's next?

If you are travelling to Kuwait and you have a digital reflex camera (DSLR), you might want to leave it at home. Three Kuwaiti ministries have banner the use of DSLRs in public in Kuwait. The ban comes from the Ministry of Information, Ministry of Social Affairs and Ministry of Finance. According to the Kuwait Times, the three ministries decided that professional cameras (DSLRs) should be used only for journalism. Well, professional ... among other cameras I have a Nikon D40, which now cannot be used in public in Kuwait, but it would be quite a stretch to consider it a professional camera.

The ban will apparently not limit the right to use compact cameras and mobile phones with cameras. Also, it seem to leave out film cameras.

I guess digital SLRs look more dangerous.
