Te Waipounamu, New Zealand

The Southern Island in black and white

Between 2008 and 2010 I was living in Singapore. That location was an ideal starting point for travels that would have been very expensive if initiated in Europe, for instance Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, New Zealand. Just before returning to England "because I miss the weather" (cross my heart), my wife and I spent five weeks travelling for over 5,000 km across New Zealand and taking a considerable amount of pictures.

"Te Waipounamu" is the Maori name of the South Island of New Zealand; it is the country's largest island, with mountains and glaciers in the Southern Alps, and several fiords on the Western coast. I suspect your attention span is as brief as mine, so no more talking. Here are a few pictures from Te Waipounamu and Stewart Island.
